A lot of times, I get severe epigastric spasms anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour after I eat. Even if it's a food that doesn't bother me, I'll get a spasm from the same food in the same quantity at times. I've tried benzodiazapines but they don't work.
Any suggesstions? Also maxeran and buscopan don't work.

I get esophageal spasms every so often and they hurt! A doctor wanted to send me to USC Medical Center and have something put down in my esophagus to measure the spasms and when he told me it was painful, I backed out. Could be the result of GERD and it could be something else. Only a doctor can recommend treatment for this kind of thing.

You should check this sciatica natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

According to the Mayo Clinic, these symptoms are common with people who suffer from acid reflux. See:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/esophageal-spasms/AN00363

According to the Medicine-Plus medical encyclopedia:
Sublingual (beneath the tongue) nitroglycerin may be effective in an acute episode. Long-acting nitroglycerin and calcium channel blockers are also used to treat esophageal spasms. Chronic cases are sometimes treated with low-dose antidepressants such as nortryptiline, to reduce symptoms. Avoid very hot or very cold foods if you are prone to esophageal spasms. See your health care provider.

alot of people on this drug get stomach issues. I know it increases acid levels or something like that... thing is your stomach lining is alot thicker then your esophagus lining. tis why you are suppose to sit up after you take it... to make sure you dotn get acid reflux (heart burns) because it can severly cause damage to your esophagus. other options instead of fosamax depend on how sever you are... there is calcitonin.. its a nose spray.. I Take it.. the studies show promising results with it. and it has no real side affects

Would suggest you find out what is triggering the nerve response, rather than finding a medication to alleviate the problem.
