If you want to be a dance teacher for K-12 students in public schools, then you need to search for a college dance program that offers a focus in pedagogy AND leads to certification (which isn't the same thing). Dance Magazine puts out the best College Guide where you can find this information. The Guide is sold at many newsstands wherever Dance Magazine is sold. You can also buy it online plus register to use their online version.

(The last time I used their online version, however, I didn't think much of it. Stick with the print copy.)
HOWEVER, if you wish to teach dance in a private dance studio to all ages of dancers, then what you're looking for is certification through the various dance organizations such as the Royal Academy of Dance, Cecchetti Council of America, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, etc.

Teaching certificates are issued by each state whose requirements may differ. You need to call or write to the Department of Education in the state or states where you would like to teach dance, and they will send you the requirements and paper work to be filled out.
In the school where I last taught before retirement, we had a full time dance instructor, and students were allowed to take her classes in place of physical education.

There must be schools dedicated to that field somewhere around your area. Check the internet and make sure you add keywords that are relevant to your location and course.
