If you like Jake Gyllenhaal, you'll like it.
The basic plot: The global climate changes in the space of about two months, most of North America is covered by miles of ice, New York gets flooded. Gyllenhaal and company are trapped in the NY Library where they survive by eating books.
In the end, they are rescued as about 200 million Americans move to Mexico.

Yeah - I'd watch it again, too. Predictable isn't always bad. The special effects are worth watching! Bring a sweater, just in case! Very nice ending. The climate even returns to "normal." Don't worry - the wolves are computer animated, and they don't win! It's kinda like a really good Nova program.
Another good movie with a lot of "cold," is The 13th Warrior.
Good for linguists & historians! Interesting language morphing.
The time is just after the Crusades, about 13th century. Buy it!
Watch it from the very begining. Read up on the "Ven" or the
"Venn," first. Finland, Norway, the Crusades. Have a series of
reding parties, weeks before your first viewing party. People will
want to see it again!

The movie wasn't really bad, I'd watch it again. The previews of the movie pretty much explain the whole thing. It's all about severe weather changes that happen over a very short period of time. It is a movie worth watching at least once.

Wow, it is as good as it looks! Jake G. is Dennis Quaid's son, and in the movie, he predicts "changing" weather is going to occur, and it is going to start happening in where else---? New York! Conveniently enough, that's exactly where his son is...! The whole movie, Dennis fights through the elements of the changing Earth, trying to get to his son in New York. Emmy Rossum does a great job as Jake's friend/girlfriend, and the effects are awesome!!! Definitely one of the best disaster movies ever made..! See it, FOR SURE! =)

It's totally inconvenient.
That after all the Ice Hell they've been through during the whole movie, everything goes back to normal. Sweet as a Sugar Pie!
So stupid. I regret going to the movie theater to watch it.

It was somewhat decent...If I recall correctly,it was loosely based on the book by Art Bell and Whitley Streiber called "The coming global superstorm" It has to do with sever environmental changes
and it's all mankinds fault.,yadda,yadda,yadda.....

seen the movie, fascinating.
but i don't think the world will end in coldness.
I'd rather think it'll end in global warming.
scientifically proven happening already!
