After not using my Tungsten E for a while, it must have lost all memory - all programs and files were gone. No problem, I'll just Hotsync I thought, BUT my computer also had a glitch and after a scan, my desktop was all messed up, and I've had to reinstall some programs.

Now i can't hotsync, I need to reinstall the palm desktop. If I do this, will I overwrite all my backedup files?

What do you recommend?

Just reinstall palm desktop and re-sync.. your data should be safe.. unless you went in and deleted the palm directory..

if you have a backup you won't have problem only if you didn't format your computer hardisk, but if you don't you lose everything.
