Water weighs 8 lbs. per gallon. Five gallons of water would weigh 40 lbs.

fill up the 5 gallon jug and pour into the 3 gallon jug to get 2 gallon in the 5 gallon jug. throw away the water in the 3 gallon jug and fill it with the 2 gallon from the 5 gallon jug. now the 5 gallon jug is empty fill it up again and pour into the 3 gallon jug that already had 2 gallons in it to get 4 gallon in the 5 gallon jug :) hey both mine and cokytiger's method works lol

I remember the old jingle "a pint a pound, the world around". Silly isn't it. It that were true it would weigh about 40 pounds. 2 (2 pints = 1 quart) x 4 (4 quarts = 1 gallon) x5

3785 ml of water = 3785 grams of water = 3.785 kg of water

1 kg = 2.2 pound so...
3.785 kg of water = 7.57 pounds of water
