I feel you on this one, and am excited that you thought to ask the question for all of us. I find the best thing for me is a hot soak and some Advil. Not very old country, but it's what works. I have a slew of ointments and lotions, but they really don't touch the pain and swelling in my joints. There's a neat product called Sombra that helps somewhat, surprised me with its effectiveness. Here's a link: http://www.ithacasports.com/sombra.html.

Good luck,
~Tia~

I don't know how you could go about this, and I haven't heard anything terribly recently about this, but I heard some time ago that bee stings do wonders for it.

I imagine this 'home remedy' was canned because it had potential to take $$$$ away from the medical industry.

The program I saw about this showed honey bees stinging patients in certain places like acupuncture, but the compounds in the 'venom' from the sting had a neutralizing affect to the arthritis.

It's probably worth looking around the nest and finding out about.

You may also want to check out this book. You can get it at any decent bookstore or perhaps a library. I don't want to allude that the book discusses be sting therapy. It's a resource for home remedies and it discusses arthritis along with numerous others. It may prove to be of worth to look at as an additional source of info to you.

Hope this helps.

My grandmother took the juice of a whole lemon with a teaspoon of baking powder. She would put it in a 8 oz glass and then fill it with water. She would do this every night. She always said it worked.

Aspirin.

Actual medicine will always beat bat urine and baking soda.

Plus, it's real cheap.
