I don't think that anyone but a NSA tech could tell if you copied data from your hard drive to another drive.

Unless you delete the MRU files, there will be a record of every document opened, etc.

MRU Blaster will electronically "shred" your temp files and your lists of recently opened documents, etc, but you must set it to "shred." Otherwise it will use the normal delete method.

Erase History files, all cookies, and all auto complete entries. Delete Windows Temp files.

No &Yes if you keep the Key code to use on another system. If you reuse the key code (MS products) and it shows up on twi systems, it will not validate.

Using a program like Norton Ghost, you can clone your hard drive onto another, or back up your files. Then erase your laptop drive with a utility. SeaTools for Seagate, WD has tools for this as well as Maxtors MaxBlast. You should also Zero the drive to set your mind at ease. Be aware that unless you Zero it with an automated software, it may be possible for some of your files to be recovered by whom ever receives the laptop. Not many reputable companies will do it as it takes time. Most will: Format the drive, zero it, format again and install the OS then list it as refurbished for sale. Or part it out.
