Beheadings in Iraq?

Hello there,
Not trying to tick anybody off, I just thought I'd ask...
from what I understand, the extremists in Iraq believe that beheading is the the most shameful, humiliating way to die. I think this has to do with something in the Quran, but I could be wrong about that.
So if some twisted American were to release a video of him beheading an Islamic extremist, would that really infuriate the terrorists? Or would they be more pleased that an American sunk to their level?

Obviously, the most humiliating way someone could treat another (in the Islamic world) would be to hit them with their shoes.

Don't you remember those bold Iraqi men who smote Saddam's statue with their shoes -- that had to be some kind of serious insult.

I wonder of beheading might not be an act of humiliation, but an act of sadism. It is a quick death, and no doubt gruesome. But a more Humiliating death would involve guard dogs, and defecating on yourself, and being sleep-deprived - just like GIT MO!

No, I think we have release enough videos to infuriate the enemy. And I think we sunk way below their level. The problem is, we haven't eliminated the people that authorized the torture - we sacrificed some dumb GIs instead.

Probably both. You see, one of the major end goals of terrorism is to change our behavior. The intent of these beheadings are unknown, but one would think that they either want us to: be scared of them, pull our forces out of iraq or afghanistan, make civilian relief organizations avoid their country therefore making it hard to restore normal life to the people of their own country, or simply to enrage us and make us retaliate with for more deadly force and alienate those in their country who were neutral. They would probably be infuriated and retaliate with something vicious. But I would guarantee that they would show it on Al Jazeera and use it to convince the islamic world that we are barbaric. Terorrism serves many purposes but the most important is that of a political end. It gives a small but well organized minority a tool for shaping the thoughts and actions of politicians.

I under stand what you are saying. During the 7 year tribulation, if someone refuses to take the mark of the beast666, they will be beheaded.Taking the mark makes a person spend eternity in hell though.
