I don't get why the *world* seems to be going ape sh*t ove rthis movie. I fianlly saw the trailer & it just looks like a quirky film w/ bad CGI snakes.

Big whoop.

Only redeeming thing is Samuel L. Jackson.

What gives??

This seems like a really stupid movie. The title explains the whole movie, that's it. Nothing more for me to anticipate. Why does a good actor like Samuel L. Jackson want to appear in such a movie?

Samuel L. Jackson is what gives. He signed on because of the ridiculous title of the movie. When they talked about changing the title he said he wouldn't do it if they did. So low and behold they didn't change it and they were able to snag him. That's pretty much it. Like you said it is just a crappy looking CGI film, but since it was able to snare a big time star and has such a stupid name, it suddenly became a phenomenon, like they have never heard of a good actor in a dumb titled movie?

If you ask me the title to M. Night Shyamalan new movie "Lady in the Water" is just as cheesy of a title (it's about a lady found living in the water of a pool) So I guess not all dumb names create a super big hype...
