My tapestry comes from the workshop of Maximo Laura, from Peru. It is woven and variably stitched. I am concerned that when I hang it up on a dowel it may not keep its shape. Is there a backing I can use?

Are there people who are professionals in this?

I don't know myself, but here are some links that seem to have good tips:

If it does not have a rod pocket on the back you can hand sew one on yourself, just make sure you sew it to the top edge and make sure that it is big enough to get the rod into, and it goes from edge to edge on the side's. Chedk out some quilting web sites if you need better instructions. That is how you would hang a quilt.
