i do facials for a living and here is a little secret of mine to help reduce acne . now this facial cost $100.00 a pop . so try this ,,, wash your face , with a good cleanser ,, preferably netrogena soap ,, exfoliate with a good exfoliation scrub , then in a small bowl mix calamine lotion and baking soda . make a paste , with a facial brush or your fingers apply paste to face . let dry then wash with warm water . do this everyday until you see a difference then do every other day , then ever two days . then to once a week and then down to twice a month . it takes time to get rid of sever acne so don't think a miracle will happen over night... good luck and keep in touch and let me know how it goes

Well the first things first even though your have acne you must still love yourself no matter what anyone says because people are going to find something to pick on you about if it wasn't your acne then maybe it would be the way you talk or walk just anything because high is a living hell but if you have good Friends then worry about there view of you and about the acne it could be because your over medicating you face you putting to many chemicals on it at once so maybe you should just clean your face with a clean towel and warm water for about 2 weeks then start with a very soft chemical then increase in 2 week intervals Good luck honey

I feel your pain, it was 13 when my acne began. I have a wonderful dermatologist in Dallas, TX - Dr. Raymond Blackburn, he completely cleared up my face, problem, I no longer have health care so I had to find a product that would work. I would strongly advise against treatments such as Acutane (it has been known to cause infertility and other health problem). And as for ProActive, my brother used it and it did not help him. The product I am presently using that has been most effective has been Arcona, go to their website - www.arcona.com. They have a 1-800 number so you can call them and find out exactly what you need, they will even send you samples, so you get to try before you buy. I am still suffering w/ acne, but thanks to Arcona I only see a couple of pimples during my "time of the month"

im sorry people make fun of you for it. Here my best guess not knowing/seeing you:
Number one, wash your face in the mornings and evenings, and after sweating with a pore cleansing oil free soap, like nuetragina.
Remember to moisturize after washings-yes, acne can come from skin being too dry- with an oil free moisturizer.
Don't over exfoliate, but do exfoliate gently once a week.
Don't apply make up to the face for a while, until you clear up a bit gloss is all yah need!
Don't touch your face, EVER unless washing or moisturizing. if you must scratch do so with the back of the hand/wrist, not the nails or fingers!
Last and MOST important, know that you are young and this will pass! sometimes you must just grin and bear it!
Hope it turns out for you!

You need to consider an intestinal cleanse to reboot your body's system. Check out the one from Dr. Natura.com ,but be sure to ask them if its ok for a person your age as I am not sure about this. I have read that diet has alot to do with acne so you need to educate yourself; ie. start keeping a diary. I think its grains and cereal type of carbohydrates that lead to acne so you may have to alter your diet and have not so much breads and grains. Get onto some health websites like mercola.com and type in acne.
Your best chance is to educate yourself. Good luck kid!

Murad Acne Complex. Go on line, order from TV or go to Sephora. It's the only thing that has ever worked for me. I also tried Proactive, and it made it worse. I also went to the dermatologist who tried creams, peels, even antibiotics. Nothing worked. Murad works. Give yourself time, try to be patient. You should see a difference in about a week. Good luck.

A dermatologist is the best way for anyone who has an acne problem.. You may need retinae. Which is perscripton only. At first it seems worse. But it works miracles. I know two young girls right now who have started on it and they are soooo much better. keep your skin clean. Keep your hands off. Don't squeeze it just spreads the problem. Take care. And remember, really good friends don't make fun of their friends

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

-The acne treatment depends on what kind of acne u have...we have many differen treatment for therm...
-First Step is avoid sun shine...u can use some protection cream which has the SPF over than 25%...then if u are a smoker have to decrease the number of them....decrease the fat food u take(oily.fast food.chips...)....drink enough water (more than 2 lits a day)....wash ur face with no bacter soap(at least twice a day)...if u are a girl dont use bad brand of make up stuff and wash ur make up as soon as possible(even if u use removal cream ).....if u start any mild sport like areobic or even jogging it will make ur skin better....take good nutrition and vegetable....
-secound we have some locolize solution ...they are antibactrial like erythromycin 1% and ....u can use them once every 2 nights on ur acnes(avoid 2 cm around ur eyes and 2 cm around ur mouth including ur nasolabial lines)....
-third u can use systemic antibiotics like tetracyclin or doxi by the order of ur G.P or dermatologist....
-if non of them work or u have cystic acne with scar u have to use a drug calls Actane its full of Vit A , it has his own order and u just can have it by a dermatolog ...
-we have some other treatments like Microdermabration(its usefull for black spots),pilling(deep and superficial) for make the acne and the scar of them goes....
its better if u visit a dermatologist.
Good Luck
P.S:proactive is just a comercial brand ...not very useful

I think that you would grow out of it, the onset of adolescence does that, acne is rampant at that age! I think we have all been there...if it continues when you get older maybe in a couple years and it is still there - go to your doctor and ask about Diane 35 it is a mild birth control pill that is perscribed for bad cases of acne...it is known to work..i think now you may be to young to use it since you are still developing and so on...but contact your doctor and see what he/she says.
