It would be more constructive to ask the ways they are different. And which calendar you are comparing to which.
The Maya had many calendars; the Aztecs only had two: the solar-agricultural calendar (365 days, 18 20 month days plus 1 5 month day) and the 260 day ritual calendar. Both of these were based off the Mayan calendars, except for the language of course, and it's suspected that the Olmecs (who came before the Maya) actually created them.
If you are talking about the calendar which "ends" in 2012, the Aztecs did not use or follow that one (called the Long Count). Instead they used the New Fire ceremony, which happens every 52 years when the 260 day and the 365 day calendars came together.
