You are neither a kid nor an adult. No matter what you do, someone will be on your case about it. Your parents, who used to know everything, now seem incredibly stupid. Your friends are as confused as you are. There's always somebody who will tell you that "these are the best years of your life," which makes you think that if this is as good as it gets, why bother. I promise you that these are NOT the best years of your life. Things will get better. Your parents will get smarter again. You'll figure out who you are and what you want to do with your life. And you'll learn also that in life, no one ever understands you completely, at least not as well as you understand yourself. So take responsibility for your own happiness, choose friends who bring out the best in you, try not to make too many stupid decisions, when you do mess up at least be honest and take responsibility for your mistakes, and you'll turn out okay.

8. Your teachers are boring
9. You're tired all the time and would rather sleep in instead of wake up for school.
10. It looks like it's gonna be like this forever!

Sound familiar? The teen years need not be awful. Sure there are some rough spots. But there are so many successful teens that are using their youth and energy to actually do things to benefit their communities and themselves. At a time when teens are so into themselves, there are teens that are being selfless. No better time than to do this now than when you gotta go to college and get jobs and have families. You actually have tonnes of freedom. Use it wisely.

It was difficult for me because my body and mind were changing, my responsibilities as a citizen, family member, and a person were changing faster than I could completely understand. It's called social adaptation. No one handles it perfectly. And confusion is a normal reaction. I doesn't mean anything is wrong with you and CERTAINLY nothing to die for, it's just the part of a learning process that doesn't end. Everybody goes through it and experiences it in different ways. If you are still in school, I urge you to speak to your student counselor. If you are out of school contact a qualified and licensed therapist and just talk openly about your thoughts. On a personal note, based on the answers before me, I know that you have a lot more information and options to work with than I allowed myself to use. I waited until I was 44 until I understood what I needed to do and feel that I could have done those things when I was younger. By working through your thoughts and feelings you have an opportunity to grow. Suicide has one outcome.

I'm a teen and I understand. Right now it's hard to express what you feel when you do try to get someone to understand you. Suicide is of course never the answer. Try to make some friends that have the same interests as you. Get a hobby and maybe you'll meet people that have stuff in common with you. Talk to people a lot because some might understand you better than you'd think. Believe me. Get to know more people and talk to people a lot. Try to be outgoing. It should help.

Oh, God, dont kill yourself. I totally understand how you feel, although I havent been a teenager for almost a decade now. It's awful. Anybody who says its great is either lying or has a bad memory.

Why is it so bad? Because, for the first time, you are waking up to the real world and seeing it for what it really is. Unlike an adult, you have not yet learned how to make sense of it (that is, to compromise who you really are to fit into an illogical and horrible world). This is why an adult can never understand you.

Want to hear the weirdest thing? When these years are over, you are going to want them back! I do, even though I hated them at the time.

Suicide isn't the answer to anything. As for nobody understanding you, that's crap that every teen feels. Keep in mind that every adult went through the emotional highs and lows you're going through, and found a way to get through it too. Adults know that it's tough to be drawn in two directions: you feel like you should be ready to handle the responsibilities of adulthood, yet you are still uncertain that you have the required skills to handle it all yourself. I found it helped to talk with adults I knew other than my folks because they seemed more open to talking without being judgmental.

Suicide isn't a solution. It is hard being a teen, but it gets better. There's a lot going on with hormones and body changes, emotions, and social stuff, but hang in there, it will even out. I encourage you to find things you're interested in and pursue them. Find someone you can talk to about how you're feeling.

Ah, I see someone is a Bobby McFerin fan, atleast I think that is his name. Being a teen is hard because you are coming out of being a child and trying to become a man, so all things that you are not used to seem to happen more and yes it is hard. It wasn't al that long ago when I was one.

It will be over in a few years. We've all survived it. It's a rite of passage in our culture. Try keeping a journal - it will help you get your feelings out without confinding in ppl who "don't understand." SUICIDE IS NOT THE WAY TO GO - YOU CAN NEVER TAKE IT BACK!
