Since you have a full term pregnancy, between 37 and 42 weeks, you should just be able to speak to him about it. Doctors will induce for the tax break and for religious reasons and for travel, so why wouldn't he induce for a medical problem dealing with you. Speak with him about tour concerns about the stillborn death and the lack of sleep, and he should do it. If he absolutely refuses, you may look into getting a 2nd opinion. Speak to him with confidence and explain your part. That should be all he needs. Good Luck!!

Being induced SUCKS.
I was induced during my first pregnancy due to preeclampsia. They tried prostaglandin gel. Didn't work. Tried it again. Kind of worked. Broke my water and started IV pitocin. Worked. But I ended up going through 52 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing, fetal and maternal distress, and an emergency C-section. Turns out I had a skeletal abnormality that wouldn't let my daughter's head pass (they could see it and everything, but they couldn't get her out). And they ended up having to use the vacuum and two people's hands to get her out during the surgery!
I realize, of course, that I probably would have ended up with the C-section anyway, due to my mangled tailbone. And I trust my doctor: if she thought Phoebe needed to come out, and needed to come out right then, then she did.
But I would never have CHOSEN to be induced, especially against medical advice.
Can you arrange to go in for extra monitoring, if you're really worried?
In my second pregnancy (also preeclamptic), I had biophysical profiles and non-stress tests done (on doctor's orders) at least every week for the last 6 weeks, and I think I had a few extra when anyone was worried about anything. (Stella was born by C-section, also at 38 weeks.)
If you trust and like your doctor, tough it out and take his advice.
If you're really uncomfortable with the watching and waiting, get a second opinion.

Every woman at 38 is crazy with stress, desperate to give birth, and none of them can sleep. Actually, I remember itching like mad the last few weeks. I actually used vitamin e oil that I bought at the health food store, and mixed it with almond oil and rubbed myself down with it every evening. It did wonders.
I would contact another doc, or even better a midwife in your area to ask about the effects of the drug. But unfortunately they probably won't induce because you can't sleep, or because you are uncomfortable, I'm sorry.
Also, you probbably would be hard pressed to find another doc at this stage in your pregnancy as well. It's only two more weeks.

It's now not a well concept to urge except it's undoubtedly integral. Not till forty one weeks - forty two weeks besides. I do not care what others have mentioned on right here, certainly they don't seem to be authorities on being pregnant. I have performed a ton of study in my time and I am peers with start educators and midwives and peers with L&D RNs - a few focusing on top hazard exertions and start at best hospitals. It is quite now not a well concept, of path, to move beyond forty two weeks (this could be quite infrequent). What occurs is the placenta can begin breaking down, coming indifferent or have immoderate calcium deposits (blockading nutrients and air to the child) and the child can develop too large and there's diminished amnitotic fluid. So - you are worn out of pregnancy? Have you attempted castor oil now? 36 weeks is MUCH too early and why could you desire to hazard your child's wellness? 38 weeks is TERM - 36 weeks could be PREMATURE. What had been you pondering??? (I'm now not looking to be imply - I simply do not fully grasp pregnant mothers now not doing the very BEST matters for his or her unborn kids) At forty weeks - you'll take a look at castor oil, you'll take a look at intercourse, jogging, and so on... you'll additionally ask the surgeon to strip your membranes - this does not positioned you at hazard and mostly will stimulate contractions. If it had been me, I could do stripping membranes after which castor oil as soon as I was once AT or beyond forty weeks. four ouncesis the correct dose. It does not paintings incidentally except your frame is READY to enter exertions - certainly you were not equipped at 36 weeks, thank goodness. OR you'll take a seat again and allow nature take it is path. The dr will advocate and time table induction after forty one weeks besides, in general. You under no circumstances recognize - your water would holiday in these days and bang, all of this speak was once for not anything. A be aware of warning - simply considering that induction is normal and plenty of ladies have it performed typically does not make it a well choice. Pitocin reasons so much tougher contractions if it is became up even somewhat too top, the possibilities of wanting epidural raises - epidurals can motive a wide variety of disorders (now not being equipped to push as effortlessly, slowing down exertions, nerve harm, complications, sleepy infants who're gradual to nurse) = it is simply now not a well concept except you HAVE to have it performed considering that exertions won't begin some other manner. Think approximately it cautiously. You perhaps depressing proper now, however inside two weeks, you'll have this child. You can get by way of it - what do you believe ladies have needed to do for hundreds of years? Your surgeon is doing the first-class matters he can believe of in your security and the security of your child. If he did not, you'll mostly be suing him for malpractice - you cannot have it each approaches. Stop being egocentric and do the first-class factor in your baby. There's my two cents...

I would get a second opinion, but if the baby is truly doing well the doc's would know and it is best to cary full term (40 weeks). Just make sure you are expressing your feelings to your doctor and let them know exactally how you are feeling.

Well you could get a 2nd opinion. Did you go to medical school? Your doctor just might know what he is doing.
