I don't know if you can do this subtly but sometimes for the good of the relationship you have to voice your concerns. Be respectful of course and gentle. Not aggressive, but make them know you only mention it because you value the relationship and you want it to grow. I think you may be surprised, hopefully pleasantly.

There is no way to "subtly" tell your boss anything. 1-They don't care if there driving you crazy. 2-It will be used against you and in the long run they'll fire you.

Luckily my boss has a pretty good sense of humor so I don't need to be subtle about it.

quit. JK. get into a long conversation with them and slowly turn it to annyoing things people do. then start naming off things that your boss does. if you're smooth, they'll never know. if you're not...DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS
