not sure about sand, but water washes away your natural lubricant so it can hurt alot sometimes and the water can also make you prone to bacteria.

yes, because the water will be forced into your uterus and fallopian tubes where it doesn't belong. this on its own can induce inflamation or it can introduce bacteria into an otherwise sterile environment. both of these can end in bad things--- sterility.

as to the lubrication thing, water is a terrible lubricant. the mucinous natural lubricants that your vagina naturally produces are good, but will get washed away by the water.

I'm thinking no, it's not dangerous. It seems highly unlikely that sand would get in your vagina, but even if it does, your body is designed to keep itself clean: it'll flush the sand out so nothing bad happens. So go have fun

It's safe. If sand gets in there, it'll come out. But sex in water is the question - some people say it's dangerous because you could get stuck.

Even swimming in the ocean can be dangerous. The news just reported lots of unhealthy bacteria are present in our ocean waters. They even say to sanitize your hands once you get out of the ocean. Stick to the shower!!!

it would seem hard to stay lubricated i would think. saltwater and the sand that blows around leave my skin with a burning raw feeling, I wouldn't want to feel the same way down there!!!

saltwater is definitely no lubricant.
