My son when he was nearly three, was sat on my lap. He looked up to the ceiling with a curious look on his face and seemed to be watching something move across it. There was nothing I could see there, so I asked him. He told me there was a 'funny' man crawling on our ceiling! I asked him to say what he looked like and he described him as having really, really long arms and legs, big eyes and a really wide mouth with spikey teeth. The Occult and Supernatural has always been a part of mine and my ancestors background, my son also seems to have a mind for it. He, at that age, had not been influenced in any way by media and such, to have seen anything like that as really, I'd like to keep him apart from that way of life....I was just wondering if anyone(with an open mind, so that rules out 99% of xtians)had any idea what it could have been? Or was it just a really good imagination!?
I was spooked when it happened and I don't spook easily!!!(spooked at his description if anything!)

Deamons have many names...Succubi/Incubi possibly?(I know what they are, just don't know what their true form would look like)

It is highly unlikely to have been just imagination, for other reasons that would take too much space to explain, but of course, one CANNOT rule out any possibility until fully researched! I was just hoping for valuable, experienced input as I have been looking into this for quite some time now...(avenues getting fewer!)

Children often see things adults have trained themselves not to see. Spirits are not limited to shapes as material beings are, so what your child saw could have been anything and it was probably playing with him. If it didn't frighten him, I wouldn't be worried. Remember, evil things take on beautiful appearances, this sounds like it was just trying to take on a funny appearance. If your son at any time does seem frightful, do a thorough house cleaning. Put your foot down and let it be known that unwelcome guests are not tolerated.

It could have been a departed relative, a spirit guide, a guardian angel, fae, or a daemon. Don't get hung up on the demon thing, the word Daemon refers to a type of spirit that isn't necessarily good or evil, it got taken over and villified by the Christians.

The best thing you can do for your child is just let him do his thing. If it is just imagination then it won't do him any harm to imagine and if he does have a gift you will only make him feel bad about himself by squelching it- like he's weird or wrong. Most kids outgrow the ability to see (or imagine) things like that anyway, so I wouldn't stress it. You don't want to push him to see stuff either, or he'll start feeling like a circus freak. If he decides he wants specialized training when he gets older, you can deal with that then. Chances are, he'll forget all about it and it'll be one of those stories you tell about him when he's older that makes him turn red about what a stupid little kid he was.

(PS Succubi and Incubi would not reveal themselves to a small child, there's no profit in it for them.)

Your little one has a very active imagination and may have been having a hallucination due to changes in his body or something he ate. The Occult is just so much hooey and all can be explained rationally some way or another. There are no demons or angels, only what you can see and understand. These tenets of the Occult come from the Mythologies of the past and have no place in today's so-called enlightened society. Live today, and believe only what you can see, as the rest is just a result of an overactive imagination, and sometimes illness and fevers can bring on hallucinations. Did you know that in the past most of the Shamans were probably suffering from Schizophrenia and when they went into a fugue state they had visions and people were awed by it. They believed what they heard and sometimes things happened. I do believe in a Higher Power that unifies all things in the Universe, but I also believe it is far too vast for us to comprehend. We as a species of animal life have not really changed for 200,000 years and although we live in houses etc, we are not really any different from the people who believed the world was flat etc. Time to join the 21st century and realize there is no such thing as magic, just Science which rules the Universe and there is a rational explanation for everything. When I was young I thought I could see ghosts in the tile of the Bathroom floor, but I also feared such things from stories I had been told. You say your son could not have been influenced by the media, but if he has seen television even for 54 minutes and the unadulterated crap that is on nowadays, then he most certainly influenced by it. It sounds like you really want to believe in this and therefore are willing to accept that there is some credence to what he saw.
There is the possiblilty, and I hope this is not the case, that this may be a precursor to some kind of chemical imbalance that may manifest itself in later years. Make sure he is getting a balanced diet free of sugars and preservatives to rule out some dietary imbalance and watch him and support him. And to remind you once again I am not a Christian or any other religion, I believe in God, not religion.

Unfortunately, no one can give you a precise answer for this question. The subject of the supernatural is much too debated and biased for you to receive a good answer.

Was your son "spooked" about it? Speak to your son about The Man on the Ceiling, ask your son questions about 'him' and encourage your son to tell you when he sees 'him'. This way, at least, you'll have a lot more information about The Man on the Ceiling, and knowledge is always better than ignorance.

You should keep in mind that children especially DO have very skilled imaginations. If this is the case, you will be gathering information about your child's emotional / mental state by asking him about The Man on the Ceiling.

On that same note, if 'open psyches' are a popular thread in your family, you will still be able to learn about this mysterious 'spirit' in your house. Allegedly, children are especially susceptible to these sightings since they are so trusting and new.

Stay calm, and be careful. :) If you show your son you're afraid of what he's saying to you, he may blame himself for the reason of your fear and not what he is seeing.

It was not an imagination. Children have an open mind, their minds are fresh and not conditioned to think a certain way ...so they are more receptive to certain supernatural phenomenons than the adults. Its a gift that your son has and he'll lose it if it isnt nurtured well. I understand your feelings as a mother. And especially since there arent many people around to guide you, it can be really difficult. But rest assured, it wasnt an imagination, considering the age of your son and the scenario.....i mean the way you described the scene.

There have been a lot of incidents in my own life which are paranormal and like you said it isnt something of a surprise to your family.

But i would suggest that you contact some psychics and take their help. They are the best people to guide you. you can also talk to me if you like.

Well, according to some paranormal experts(people who are actually studying these kinds of stuffs in anyway possible like scientifically, religiously, etc.), a kid's third eye is very wide open. They said that most kids could see some beings aside from human. When I was a kid, I had experienced somewhat the same like your son. My parents brought me to a doctor fearing that I might have a psychological or nervous problem. But the doctor disagreed. So my parents took me to a healer. And yes, after a few days, I had never seen what I was seeing again. By the way, I was seeing small people, and weird animals according to what I've said to my mother. It was along time ago, I can only have some small images flashing back...

So in the case of your son, It might be true. You can take him to a doctor(real) first just to be sure.

It seems your son may be able to glimpse into the other plane of existance.

The plane where creatures of light and darkness live. There is a constant battle on earth between good and evil - to influence humans. But it keeps us on an equilibrium, one cannot exist without the other.

If you'd like to know more about the 'funny man' your son saw there are illustrated books that describe the physical traits of the Supernatural creatures, demons, angels etc.

Otherwise, it may be that your son has a very vivid imagination - he may have dreamt it, seen it in a story book - or heard about it from other children?

The fifth length are an R&B vocal crew from the 60's. JK i ought to assert that your guess is virtually as good as any, yet there's a "new" concept noted as STRING concept- It says that there are 10 or 11 dimensions searching on the maths (the 11d is gravity). the following is a simplified video that explains 10 dimensions. even with the very shown actuality that it really is an hassle-free little video the concept continues to be perplexing to get your thoughts round.

I think he truly did see something. Children can see things that adults can't, I should know because I've seen things that nobody else can see, the only time someone else seen it too was when my and I went walking through a house in the middle of the night and we seen something that's hard to describe but it scared the sh!t out of us and almost nothing scares me. my cousin is 4 years younger than me. I've also scared the sh!t out of mother and my grandmother by telling them that there was somthing in the house that was pulling things off of the tree.

Spooked too. Looked up at my ceiling and decided to switch to my upstairs computer so I'm near my family. But seriously I believe that some people can see things others can't. I feel that my sister can see people's auras (sp?), so I believee that your son could truly see something.
