Theres more than evidence of drug overdose.
There is also proof that she was murdered.
No one knows for sure.
It could also have been suicide.

"Officially", she died of a drug overdose. Yet there were no pills or residue found in her stomach. Some say she was given a deadly enema, as evidenced by changes in the coloration of the tissue in her colon.
The funny part is, she was preparing to give a press conference on the coming Monday, revealing all about Bobby Kennedy.

The truth. She attempted suicide more than once before but called someone to come "help" her. Chances are she took an overdose and tried to call for help. Phone found in her hand, But, the person didn't know what was going on. She died. Also, Her Dad and Grandmother I think commited suicide. So there it is. My thoughts, she was just trying to get attention and not in a good way, and went too far.

This is one of histories greatest mysteries....Her death was ruled drug overdose/suicide...but some theorists say she was murdered because of different reasons...We will unfortunately never know the truth.

I believe she OD'd on sleeping pills (presumably on purpose), but there's a whole conspiracy theory that she was killed - mafia, or Kennedy related stuff...
