Definitely the glucosamines as others have said, greenlipped mussel extract is good too. However there are so many different types of arthritis, some can be caused by germs getting into the joints ! don't ask me how. I was told when I was 24 "you're just getting old take some paracetomol" Iput up with the pain for ten years until I changed my diet, for general fitness reasons.Cutting out junk, eating less meat and drinking herbal teas, which I quickly found I preferred anyway. I also started taking garlic capsules as I was being exposed to colds and flu regularly. So I don't know what actually did the trick. It comes back now and again, but the glucosamine quickly gets the pain (and damage ?) under control.Good luck.

I would use New Chapter's Zyflamend, a clinically proven anti-inflammatory, with huge side benefits: anti-cancer, and antioxidant. It helps the body to respond to inflammation appropriately, without causing the increased mortality risks associated with NSAID's like ibuprofen, and cox-2 inhibitors.
I would also go on an elimination diet from wheat and dairy for a week. I'm near certain you will feel better within days.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and i treat this problem several times a week with many of my patients. I use aromatherapy massage and acupressure and a 'tens' unit for the more difficult of patients. Find yourself a good one and give it a try it works very well, it may take a few treatments but it's worth it. I can also reccomend herbal treatment so if you want any more help e mail me but give me your full e mail address for a reply

careful. Advil and motril and ibuprofins are really hard on the stomach, liver and kidneys. You dont want to take them wrong and cause more damage, or take them too often.
There is an article at the bottom of the link below which talks about inflammation, which is a major factor in arthritis. There is also a bit about drugs and how they can be dangerous if you take them wrong. It is on the drug page.
