There is in fact a rule. The rule is that you do what your teacher has assigned until the end of the school year. I'm teaching, and I'm still giving homework. It's review and prepares them for the exam and for next year. Further, I have made it very clear that whoever decides not to do my homework loses the exemption in my class (if they had one).

In school, I would have agreed with you. However, you are in school to learn. The last week isn't a big goodbye party, it is still school. I'm sure that there have been plenty of times you got swamped with homework, and had plans for that evening. Just take it in stride, and the you will reap the benefits! I must applaud you, though. Most students would just give up, where it seems you truly care about your homework, and taking care of your responsibilities. Hats off to you! I hope you have a wonderful evening. Good luck with your ceremony, homework, finals, and all that you do. Be safe and have fun this summer.

Some countries send material home that must be done over the summer in order to register for school the next term. I think you should count your blessings, stop whining, buckle down, get off of the computer, and get to work. Oh, yeah, looking for a pity party isn't exactly productive.

Absolutely not!! As it is, you go to school for only about 180 days a year, and the year ends on the last day. Until then, you should be studying and working and learning.
How would you like it if your employer said, "Well, there is only four days left before he goes on vacation, so I won't pay him because it's almost the end of the year for him to work here."
Stop complaining and suck it up!! Above all, stop whining!! It is very unbecoming of a scholar such as yourself.

Well if you haven't finished the work for the year, you would need to finish it. Sorry, but being in our school system, sometimes it takes until the very end to complete the curriculum. Have a great summer vacation!!

As a teacher, I totally agree! Quite honestly, if I gave ANY work this week I wouldn't even grade it. We had to turn our grades in last week so I know I won't grade anything. My son, however, has a final exam on his last day of middle school. Insane! Unfair!
