I know your pain! I suffered for years, endured bladder irrigation's, took mountains of antibiotics and drank rivers of cran-grape juice! I finally was prescribed Cipro and it knocked it out for good! If you have any, take some pyridium (its a little purple pill that numbs your bladder and urinary tract. It will stop the pressure and the pain when you pee. But it will be very orange and stain your undies. But its a urethra's best friend during an infection. Stop drinking caffeinated beverages until the infection is passed. Good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon.

PS- if its possible, lie down and be as still as you can. This would ease my pain and the urge to run to the bathroom only to be able to squeeze out a few excruciating drops!

How long have you been on the antibiotic. Have you given it time (a couple of days) to start working? If the answer is yes, then you need to contact your doctor tomorrow. You may need a stronger antibiotic. If it's so unbearable that you feel you cannot wait until tomorrow then you need to go to urgent care or the emergency room. God bless!

Stay away from anything that has acid in it. Drink lots of cranberry juice, water, and orange juice. Don't drink soda, or any carbonated drinks. And continue taking your antibiotic. If it gets worse or doesn't go away within a week, go back to your doctor.

how long have you been on the antibiotic? if you have only been on it for a day or two, relax, continue taking the pills, and drink lots of water. if you have been on it for a few days and things are getting worse either go back to your doctor or go to the emergency room. if you let a uti get too bad you can go septic and possibly die.

I used to have this painful, rotten problem. The BEST antibiotic is CIPRO. Accept no substitutes. Also, drink as much cranberry juice as you can hold.

You need to drink lots of water and take cranberry pills. Juice or anything sugary will cause further problems for you.
