I'd rather have a poor President who was wise that a rich but dumb one.

If the president were rich, he or she may become too out-of-touch with the average citizen. But that doesn't mean a rich president couldn't be a good president or that poverty should be a requirement to hold the position.

NO official should be rich, a lawyer, or after public service be allowed to lobby the Gov. for any person other than themselves. The rich do not represent the general public( 80% of the public is NOT rich), a lawyer in the Gov. is a conflict of interest; he would be representing the laws he help make, and lobbiers from former Gov. servants is also a conflict of interest!

No! because rich people seem to loose their compassion for their fellow man along the way.I can't understand why the president gets paid so much.Especially this president that is absent more than he's there.lol even when he is there he is still absent!

No, it should not matter.But it has been a long time since they were not rich.
It takes money to get elected. Bush did not use any of his but Kerry & Edwards used large sums of their own money at the end of campaign.
