For all the rest of you folks: Mt. Everest is the highest mountain in the world. The tallest, from base to summit happens to be Mauna Kea, the highest point in Hawaii, measured from the ocean floor.. It measures 13,796 ft above sea level plus another 16,000 ft below sea level. That makes it: 29,796 ft total. Remember, the mountain is mostly submerged under the ocean. Mt. Everest is only measured from sea level at 29.028 ft.
