MAny women will have an occasional cycle where they do not ovulate. This is very normal! Also, try using the test kit in the afternoon...you're more likely to see a positive result at that time of day vs the morning. Good luck to you!

You do not have to ovulate in order to have your period, although some women who don't ovulate have irregular periods.

Just because an ovulation predictor kit didn't show a positive result, does not necessarily mean that you didn't ovulate. Some of them do give false negatives. The most accurate way to predict whether or not you are ovulating is to get blood tests from the doctor.

If you didn't ovulate however, you can't conceive. A visit to the doctors can help you to overcome this problem. He or she will probably put you on a medication called clomid, which you can only take for three months at a time, which stimulates the ovaries to release an egg. Many women have conceived using this drug, although it does have a few unpleasant side effects.

I recommend that you join the trying to conceive forum that I will post in the source list. It's full of supportive women with boundless knowledge about these issues. It's a great place to share the excitement or just vent about how long it is taking! I learnt so much there, that I doubt I would have learnt otherwise.

Yes it is possible to get your period. I have what is call PCOS and it affects all parts of your cycle. I have to take medicine to make me ovulate and some other medicine to make the eggs devlop and all that good stuff. I recomend that if you have been ttc for over a year, you should talk to your doctor about it. You may need something to get you to ovulate.

In addition to the other information, it is possible that you ovulated earlier than when you took the test.
