I really wanted to get a tattoo of a little lady bug on my big toe, but my local tattoo artist (he has been doing tattoos for over 25 years) said that it would eventually rub away because of the use of socks and shoes(he did a tattoo on his foot before and it has since warn mostly away, you can only see a tiny hint of it now). He also said that the skin on your feet replaces itself much fast than many other parts of our body. Due to his advice and seeing his foot for myself, I never did get the tattoo. I guess if it is not too expensive to do, try it so you will know for sure. =) Good luck!

Foot tattoos dont smear. They just hurt a lot because the bones are there. But tattoos fade, foot tattoos wont fade as fast because they are not in the sun all the time say as an arm. Tattoos are basiclly scars so they dont come out. I would go ahead and not be scared to get one because if any thing does go wrong they can always fix it.

Tattoos don't smear! They could fade because of the amount of skin on your feet...you actually cannot wear shoes or socks for a few weeks after you get a tattoo on your feet!

I would probably choose to get a tattoo of the infinite sign with the quote "And in that moment, I swear we were infinite" from a book I read called The Perks of Being A Wallflower. I'd probably put it somewhere around my rib or hip area.

I doubt they would "smear", because the ink is imbedded in the skin. It will eventually look bad, because all tattoos fade and have color changes. Since the skin on the foot is so thin, this will probably be relatively quick.

Foot tatoos tend to fade because the skin is thin. The skin can't "hold on" to the pigment ( the ink ). Once a tatoo has healed, it cannot become "smeared" or altered other than by trauma, sun exposure ( which will fade tatoos ), or a laser- the type used by Dermatologists to remove tatoos.

My friend has a really cute tattoo that goes across all her toes and along the side up to her ankle...daisy on each toe and a vine along the side. anyway her pinky toe rubbed out but because she wore shoes soon after...the rest is in perfect shape and its been years now.
