Is makeup a waste of time in middle school?

Most guys hate makeup, and think girls look prettier without it, but I like putting on foundation and mascara, because I'm a girly-girl, and I love makeup. I also wear the foundation because I have pretty bad acne.

It is your call. My daughter is 12 on the ninteeth of this month and I will do her makeup on special occasions and she does look good but I think there is such a thing as wearing too much makeup. You need a light close to natural makeups set for the day time at school. If you choose the right colors it should enhance your looks not make you look like a goth squirrel.

I started wearing make up in 6th grade....I wished I would have waited....I never really had skin problems, but I still feel like I was trying to be older then what I was...since all the cool kids did it....if you want to wear makeup....just do the lip glosses...or tinted glosses...& maybe some mascara...but dont go all out with it...I very rarely wear makeup now...it is over rated...natural beauty is the best kind of beauty....

yes. makeup in middle school will make u look like a clown. Imagine a 2 year old wearing makeup and that is what u look like to older people.

This is very much a matter of opinion ... In my opinion, make-up is not only a waste of time in middle school, but it also damages the skin ... I think that in middle sch (or even in high sch for that matter), the priority should be on education, and not on face and body enhancements. Personally, I am in University, and I still do not use make up :)

Look, if you do it everyday, then yes, definitely. That means you're trying to impress people by your looks. You don't want the kind of friends who only like you on the outside. Just do what you're comfortable with. Use the saved time and money to be your own person and others will follow--with or without the makeup. Of course, a little bit when you want to look really nice to treat yourself is fine. Just like anything, moderation is key...

The benefit of using make up now is- that you will be able to work out what looks good on you and iron out any mistakes so that by the time you graduate...your make-up should be flawless.
also: I Don't wear make-up to attract anyone...I wear it to cover imperfections, and enhance good features. I wear it to feel confident and present a happy , healthy face to the world. It is not just about boys...It is about me too.
also: Makeup has made a lot of improvements and some make-up is beneficial because it has sun screen and moisture and nutrients for your skin. Consult a make-up expert for teens .

I just graduated from middle school and i have really bad skin and things like powder and concealer and anything that covers up zits is good. just make sure you are putting the right color and amount of make up on, after all you dont wanna go to school looking like a clown. Also ask someone what the right colors are for you. For low budget people like me,,, i went to Macy's or one of the department stores with makeup counters and asked them!!

Definitely a waste of time! There's no need to look older than you are in middle school; not to mention the damage make up does to your skin (it's full of toxic chemicals). Also, a lot of teens use make up to cover up pimples and blemishes, but make up sits on top of these spots and "floats" there so it looks really horrible. I guess you should just look at your friends; it always looks pretty tacky!

I made it through high school w/ out wearing makeup, except on special occasions. Trust me, life's better off w/ out it. I had just as much success w/ guys as my makeup wearing friends. Plus, you can't go to the beach w/ makeup on, so why wear it?
