its not just about proper hygene but proper diet too. If you eat the right food, ther fluids in your body are neutralized thus producing hormonal balance and lesser odor not just for the vagina but also for the whole body. and yes.... its suppose to stink..... I should know, I'm married!

i really do not know, cause it has been 23 years since i had a period.. but i was a very clean person but i still remember the way the blood smelled on the pad...i think it must of been cleaning something out of us...but that is just a guess... i know that it is not cause i did not keep clean...cause i like i already said am very clean...i really do not think i have ever heard anyone talk of the smell actually... and that is to be honest...but i think i would just change often and wash often and take care of your basic hygiene duties...sorry i cannot be of more help..

should not unless you have an infection or don't change tampons/pads often enough. Bacterial vaginosis can cause a foul odor during menses; as the blood flows out, the odor does, too.

Only if you don't keep yourself clean. There's no reason for a woman to have a bad odor when she has her period.

Yes it can, but not too much of the time. It won't really happen too much if you keep yourself cleaned well during your monthly time.
