After the 9/11, Hollywood said that they would never make any kind of movie about this tragedy. And I really respected that desicion, the attack itself looked like an action movie, to pass on such a story would be unHollywood-like. So, for 4 years they didn't make any movies about this. Now, you got United 93 that is a hit at the box office. In a month or two, you got World Trade Centre with Nicholas Cage. Wonder how much money that will make. Did those guys forget their promise?

Because it's easier and cheaper than having writers be original for a change. They should donate all the profit to the families that lost people.

The reason that they made a movie about 9/11 is because they CAN.They know how millions of people are still wondering what exactly happened on 9/11 and that they can make big bubks off of it.

Are you kidding me? Unhollywood like? Those people have been and always will be bottom feeders.

They make movies about tragedy because it sells.

Let's list some movies to show what I'm talking about:

Schindlers List
Pearl Harbor
Bowling for Columbine
Apocolypse Now

So forget promises made....money talks and dousche bags walk.

It doesnt' matter what Hollywood does because we don't have to go see them. If nobody went to see them then they'd stop making them. If they made the movie 60 yrs later(all those ww11 movies that are done in taste) it might be alright to try and humanize these events for the younger generations. But if you really believe anything Hollywood says then I have a nice bridge I'd like to sell you.

I agree with you. The movie industry and entertainment people think that they have been given not only a deeper insight into the mysteries of our planet but they also think that it is their responsibility to expose and explain it to the "rest of us pea-brains".
They think that we have not the intelligence to interpret the workings of our country and it's interaction with other countries. They actually believe that they are enlightening the populace of our country-----BUT believe me, the bottom line is and will always be the good ole' making of millions. Do these people really think that they could even begin to understand how the average American feels? These people who own homes all over the world. No, not homes but estates and will have special food and flowers flown all over the world just to be where they are? All of this waste while others hurt or starve. Don't even get me started! They don't think that promises even apply to them--they just love to hear themselves talk.

In the end, it all comes down to money. Someone is bound to make a movie on the tragedy sooner or later, Hollywood just wants to be sooner because sooner means a bigger profit.

I think its HORRIBLE!! People have no compassion for the families and friends that were lost-- I don't think that 9/11 hit people not from the east coast as hard as it should have

because its what sells, they capitalize on tragedy, they stretch the truth and make movies like that to play on peoples emotions, its all about gain, and what they have to do to make more money just like any other corporate monster, which is sad but true

cause eventually hollywood would want to market off it like anyone else has with flags, stickers, pictures, and anything else you can think of. it's truly sad and pathetic that anybody would do that especially a bunch of overpaid and worthless actors who are just doing it for a paycheck

America is retarded and stupid. Too many people are getting rich, too many people are poor, and we have a douche bag for a president. Actors should get paid on how a movie does, not because they are "good" or because of thier name.
