take some medication. The yogurt might prevent a yeast infection but that is all.

Yes, no and maybe. The best way is to see your doctor. The second most reliable is to get an over the counter cream. Eating yogurt is only the best way to rid yourself of yeast if you absolutely will not consider more medically sound, non-organic cures first.
It is however, a great way to prevent yeast infections. The acidophoilous cultures in yogurt are similar to the healthy bacteria that live in your vagina anyway. Yes- there are good vagina bacteria. They help battle the little yeasties when they show up, (which, by the way, are actually a fungus similar to athelete's foot- antibiotics will make it worse, not better). The best thing to do is keep yourself supplied with the good bacteria by eating yogurt all the time rather than wait 'till it's too late to reintroduce them. I get a couple of yeast infections a year (I'm just more prone to them than most girls) and I usually either go to my doctor for some fluconozole or get the Monistat. The rest of the time, though, I take an acidophilous supplement. The refrigerated variety of these are the most potent (ask a guy in a health-food store if you're not sure)- it's like eating 5 yogurts at once but without the ucky feeling that comes from eating yogurt every day for a year.

NO..the best way is to use an over-the-counter medicine, like Monistat, or even better is the pill called Diflucan that your doc can prescribe. You take one pill and it's gone lickety-split. Eating yogurt will help reduce your chances of a yeast infection, but I'm not so sure it gets rid of one if you have one.
