Ya know, the new lights that are flourescent and have swirling tubes!!!

Yes, you will use about 20% as much electricity as the regular bulbs and they are not nearly as hot so you cut down on air conditioning.

They also last many times longer then incandescent bulbs so you don't have to replace them very often - hardly ever.

Yes they save you money a light that generates heat is wasteful.heat is enegry lost .a regular light bulb generates heat and that heat is not being used as light. a fluorescent lamp does not make much heat so more d the angry is used to light the bulb.Most of the angry on a fluorescent is used at start up a fluorescent has to warm up

I haven't noticed a difference, but they run cooler in the summer

they have for me .. i switched every light in my home including ceiling fan , and i have noticed a difference in my bill
