Republicans don't have a clue what it means to be free, they are just uptight religious people who should really find new agenda instead of attacking people's right to be happy with whom ever they want to be

That is so interesting. Many democrats come across the same way. They seem to be tolerant of anyone except those who disagree with them.

There are so many freedoms that we enjoy I'm not even going to name any of them.

You are still and always should be free to live with whomever you want. You can make whatever vows you wish with whomever you want. Marriage has always been a socially recognized union between a woman and a man. As I say you can have any type of relationship with anyone. There is no need to call it marriage. What is so dreadful about maintaining the word marriage in its time honored context when no one is prohibited from forming a similar relationship. You just can't call any other relationship a marriage nor can you afford the same rights to nay other type of relationship.

I have never heard or read that you cannot express your opinion.
I hear democratic senators express near treasonous opinions all the time and they are still senators.

I think you are looking at your own question a little too superficially. But, hey, all this is just my opinion!

Ha Ha do you mean Republicans in general or Conservatives the two IMHO are two very different animals. Personally I find it funny to watch Bush give a speech and count the number of times he says the word freedom in a sentence all while remembering that this is the guy who fervently supports the patriot acts 1 and 2, as well as wire taps, and now web logging. I use to think I was a Republican but now anymore well.........

Well, well, well. One of those who think their freedoms are being taken away.

I am free to marry whosoever I want, and so are you. Just don't go calling a gay relationship, or a gay partnership or a gay union a marriage. It's not. Personally, I don't believe it is.

Certainly it is not, in the eyes of God. Since His opinion doesn't count much these days, how about the opinions of 70 to 75% of the citizens voting in the states that had the question on their ballots in 2004? Weren't they saying what they want? Or aren't
they allowed to express their opinions because THEY disagree with YOU?

Republicans advocate a Republic, not a democracy, freedoms in a republic are different than those in a democracy. A good dictionary should clear up what a republican is for you, and what being one means. By no means do I agree with them. Also Your refers to ownership or possesion, wheras You're which is a contraction of the words you and are, is what you should have typed.

Republicans are closely related to christians, if they aren't christians already. These types of people believe they have all the answers as to what is best for everyone else, no matter what other people believe. Not all republicans are like this, though. I am a repug, but I'm probably more middle of the road, not a rabid bush supporter.

Marriage since it's inception has always been between a man and a woman, this has survived through sodom and gammorah, the roman empire, and other societys where homosexualty was the norm. We as republicans are not opposed to your union but we are opposed to you saying that is a marriage. I think you having a Union ceremony would be a good compermise and would end all this bickering. And again it can be uniquely yours as homosexuals no Union ceremonies for heterosexual.

You need to leave. That is not a question but a personal attack.

Marriage is not a freedom or a right, it is a social construction, it is an aid to procreation and childrearing something not possible for a homosexual couple.

It is that simple, you have no rights to social constructions such as marriage, it was designed for a specific purpose and to stretch it to apply to homosexuals is a perversion of the intent.

Funny, republicans do no sic the PC police on people for expressing their views. Liberals are the first to scream "hate speech" and accuse people of being homophobes and heartless when someone expounds an opinion that goes against liberal dogma.

Republicans and Democrats never support freedom. They both want government to be much bigger than it is now. The only difference is what parts of the government they want to grow.

Being the rich upper class, what they mean is that you are free as long as it is ok with them. For the followers of the repuglicans it means you are free as long as you do not think for yourself. To be free you have to listen in to the Rush Limbaugh show every day and repeat every word here.
