My partner and I both work away from home and she lives at the opposite end of the country (UK) from myself. The only time that we get to see each other is when our scheduals are free which is about once a month or so. We see each other for a few days at a time if we are lucky. We talk on teh phone several times during hte day and have been together well over a year. The reason it works is that we have understanding that our relationship is at the present governed by our work and respect and trust each other enough for it to work. But yeh im seeing her on Wednesday, first time since march and I really cant wait.....So yeh with me its absence makes the heart grow fonder.

I live in a different city as my boyfriend, we work completely opposite shifts plus he has other commitments which keep him occupied at weekends which is when i have some free time!!! at first i thought it would never work out! but its worked out perfectly, we spend some days together and many days apart!! point is, i always look forward to seeing him, every time!!!
I guess what i am trying to say is abscence does make the heart grow fonder(if u are fond on the person)!!!!

Yes it's true that absence makes the heart grow fonder. When my husband and i first got married he was working at home and we saw each other all the time and fought all the time. Then he went offshore to work for 2 wks. on and 2wks. off. Now we get along tremendously and hardly ever fight. I always miss him so much that when he comes home i just want to get along and have fun together :).

Depends on how he feels about you.. if he loves you it does.. but absence only works for short periods or you tend to grow apart and begin to lead different lives.

Depends...I've had girlfriends that left my mind as soon as I was away from them, and I've had others that occupy my thoughts 24-7. I think it really depends on your true feelings...is it love or is it just convenience?

I would say that it is more often a case of out of sight, out of mind.

It depends on the length of time. After a month, it's over.

i have been in a long distant relationship. i believe that if the time apart is to long, we will turn to another to fill the gap in our heart.
