I just finished reading Nightbirds On Nantucket by Joan Aiken. It is one of the seven books Wolves Chronicles featuring Dido Twite. It is a series about a girl named Dido Twite and her adventures. There are a lot of characters in this book. I focused mainly on Dido and Dutiful, since they were the main characters. I like how the author has a very unique personality for each character. Like how she shows Dutiful, frightened and nervous. An Example is on page 66. When the ship shakes, she gets really scared and assumes the worst right of, that there’s a hurricane. I wonder why Dutiful is so afraid of the ocean. I think it may be because her mother, who is now dead, was afraid of the ocean. When I was filling out this book on my book list, I was a little confused when it came to genre. I wasn’t sure whether it was historical fiction or fantasy.I think it is historical fiction because of the language and clothing expectations. With the language, they talk with a lot of words we dodon’t usually use anymore, like shan’t and hisn. With clothing, the girls are expected to were dresses. I think its fantasy only two reasons. One is because there is a pink whale, and the other because there is a gun that is a mile long. I suppose though, you could paint a whale pink.
I really enjoyed this book. One of my favorite things about it is the way the author does things, her style of things. She also comes up with very interesting ideas. I wonder how Joan Aiken came up with her ideas for this. It seems like she wrote it, and everything just flowed together. I think maybe she was living on the ocean when she wrote this. I think that because she has many details that make you feel like your right there.

There You GO:
I just completed reading the novel, Nightbirds on Nantucket, written by Joan Aiken. It is one of the seven books in the Wolves Chronicles series. The novel features Dido Twite, and her frequent adventures. Of the numerous characters, I chose to focus my attention on Dido and Dutiful, who frequently appeared in the book. Joan Aiken uses a unique personality and style for each character. For example, the way she emphasizes Dutiful’s fear on page 66. When the ship Dutiful is on shakes, she becomes scared and begins to question her safety. The source of Dutiful’s fear of the ocean remains an unanswered question. One theory is that Dutiful’s fear arose because of her late mother’s fears. The genre of Nightbirds on Nantucket is difficult to identify. It seems to be historical fiction because of the language used and clothing styles mentioned. This novel may also be classified under fantasy because of certain animals, a pink whale, and weaponry used, a mile-long gun. I enjoyed reading this book because of the author’s writing style and ideas, which instantly grab the reader’s attention. Everything flowed extremely well; in fact, I felt as if I was on the ship with Dutiful and Dido. The clarity of the details makes me wonder what the author’s inspiration was.
Don't forget to underline the title of the novel. You may want to mention more about Dido's characer.

I just finished reading Nightbirds On Nantucket by Joan Aiken. It is one of the seven books in a series, featuring Dido Twite and her adventures, [question, is Wolves Chronicles the name of the series?] I focused mainly on the characters Dido and Dutiful, since they were the focus of the novel.
I like how the author has a very unique personality for each character. For example, found on page 66, Aiken shows Dutiful, frightened and nervous; when the ship shakes, she gets really scared and assumes the worst right of, that there’s a hurricane. I think Dutiful is afraid of the ocean because her mother, who is now dead, was afraid of the ocean. [question: do you have an example of this for Dido?]
When I was filling out this book on my book list, I was a little confused when it came to genre. I wasn’t sure whether it was historical fiction or fantasy. I think it is historical fiction because of the language and clothing expectations. With the language, they talk with a lot of words we do not use anymore, like shan’t and hisn. With clothing, the girls are expected to wear dresses. I also think it could be fantasy only two reasons. One is because there is a pink whale, and the other because there is a gun that is a mile long. I suppose though, you could paint a whale pink. (question, could these have been metaphores?)
I really enjoyed this book. One of my favorite things about it is Aiken's writing style. She also comes up with very interesting ideas, and it makes me wonder how Aiken came up with her ideas for this. The way her writing and ideas flowed together makes me think maybe she was living on the ocean when she wrote this. Her descriptiveness of events that make the reader feel like they are right in the middle of the action, adds to the reasoning she lived by the ocean while writing Nightbirds.

If you aren't sure if the book is fiction or fantasy (and that's a pretty important definition) look at the first page of the book -- the one with all the small print that lists the publisher, and classification number, the author's name, the subjects covered in the book.
Somewhere in there, it will tell you fit the book is fiction, novel, fantasy, or whatever.
I'm not sure what grade you are in, but please check your spelling. You've made several errors in word usage -- for example, girls wear dresses, they don't where them. When you say someone is right there, you say 'you're right there', not 'your right there'. There are a number of these types of errors. It may seem like a small thing, and I'm not trying to be picky, but when you're writing about literature, it is important to be as correct as you can in the grammar and spelling.
If you like the way the author creates situations -- and the reality that she brings to the ocean surroundings, try to figure out how she does it, and use these techniques in your writing.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
