Do you think it is weird if a guy wears a sweater vest even if they let the shirt at the bottom out not tucked in? The reason is because Of my school will be making us wear them

I had to do the same thing... I wore them in Private schools and I wear them When i'm not in school I like them but if the colors are wrong then it looks weird

It all depends if you want to look like a man or a punk. The person who said sweater vests look gay is totally uninformed. There's nothing "gay" about classic business attire, just like there's nothing "gay" about a construction worker wearing a hard hat or a woman wearing a string of pearls. If you want to give the image that you're too immature or too angry to act like a man, then leave the shirttails out, don't comb your hair, etc., and anyone with a brain will get the message instead of assuming you are gay.
Expressing your rebelliousness by looking like a slob is low on style and creativity. If you really want to look like a romantic rebel, check out the old movie "If...", starring Malcolm McDowell. It's about some truly rebellious prep school students who are able to project rage and the prep school stereotype at the same time.

I think it looks cool when the bottom hangs out from a vest sweater. It gives a look of "I am a genius that knows how to have fun".

Dork seventies style is rampant in hs right now I am unaware as to why that is but it is. So how can wearing a sweater vest be a bad thing then?

No...they can be cute. The preppy look is "in" right now, and I have even seen some rappers wearing sweater vests.

It looks either super preppish or super punky depending on the sweater vest and how you wear it. Oh, and if possible don't button the part of the shirt thats hanging out.

Well...I dont know any straight guys who will wear a sweater vest.
But if it's for your school I guess you have no choice. Dont feel weird since everyone else will be wearing them but I wouldnt wear it to the mall...

I'm sorry, I have never seen a guy who looked good in a sweater vest. Hell, the piece of clothing doesn't even make any sense.

This is going to sound terrible, but it all depends on the guy. I'm sure there are going to be guys at your school who would look hot no matter what they're wearing. Then there are those who could be in the latest trendy clothes and they'll still look like they need a pocket-protector!
I think you'll look fine. Besides... what's your option?

i personaly dont like it. but if everyone at your school is wearing it thwn its ok because you wont look weird. but if you dont have to and just want to well.... then.....YOUR WEIRD! lol but you have no choice. and sweter vests can be hot if the person wearing them is lol! and if your shirts not tucked in. then your hot!!
