When you leave the house, do you always close and lock the windows? Do you always have to lock your doors even if you are home?
I know some people in different towns that say it's ok to leave things unlocked. Even their house! I can't even do that if I am home. I have to check the windows 3 times before leaving. Even though I live on a higher floor, I have to have them closed and locked. Same goes for my house locks. Even the car. If I am getting out of the car will be leaving it, even for a second, I have to lock the doors. You just NEVER know.
What are your opinions?? Are some neighborhoods that safe where they don't have to lock doors and windows?

I agree w/ you. I think I live in a pretty safe neighborhood, but I always lock everything. The windows the doors. The only exception is when our house gets extremely hot, then we open up all the windows and doors.

It does mainly depend on where you live. When i was growing up, we never locked our door. neither did our neighbors. our little neighborhood was only about 2 blocks love, and we lived out in the country. Everyone knew everyone and we would have noticed when someone who didn't live near was around. No one had ever gotten robbed there while my family lived there. (about 20 years)

Now i live in the city, and we always lock our door and windows, even though we know most of our neighbors. Its just too easy for someone who doesn't live around here to go unnoticed by people who live here.

Yes, the state put in a halfway house across the street and didn't tell any of us on the street till they were already there. So now we have people who don't do jail time living across the street. Psycho's, druggies, who knows. One lady walks around with a live cat in her baby cariage. Precious, you can here her calling him at all hours of the night. So now Everybody normal on the street all has at least 2 dogs and we fortify our houses. Be careful it could happen in your neighborhood.

i lock my house up when i leave, but not when i'm here. i only lock my car when i'm at work. there's really nothing in it to steal, and i'd rather someone just open the door to find that out than busting the window.
