You could be on to something on both counts.

If you look at the history of the England and Wales you will see that Wales was invading England long before we (England) invaded there. It is only that England was invaded by a few other countries that we moved on a bit quicker to become a larger more dominant country, There fore wanting to expand our boundaries, the same as every other country in early Europe.
As for the question where is Wales in the Union jack, they are not in it, that was due to the fact that at the time of the flag being merged from the English and Scottish flags wales were not a part of the union and joined at a later date.

I must be cracking up, I thought I had just answered this!!
However here we go again, North Wales is rightly proud of the National heritage of Wales, so is the South to a certain extent, but the South is far more Cosmopolitan .
The North try their best to maintain and speak their native tongue, they see no need to switch language just because an English person is about!! Why do the English assume that all nations should speak English??
Do they also assume that when they visit Spain?? the answer is yes they do!! Toffee nosed pratts!!
Hope this helps??

I think you`ll find that it`s more hatred FROM the Welsh than Brit.No Brit has burnt down a holiday-home of a Welshman !!
Wales and England have been here as long as each other - they`re JOINED together ,one didn`t appear before the other by magic!
As a side-note ,do you know that it`s still legal in Chester to kill the Welsh? However you must do it within the city walls ,after 6pm ,with a long-bow and shoot left-handed LOL.

The English don't hate the Welsh, where'd you get that idea? I'm English, I think Welsh people are generally lovely.
Have you had a problem with 1 English person and lumped us all together?
I asked my bf if he thinks the English hate the Welsh and he says "no, but I think the Welsh hate the English though"
so there you have an English and Spanglish view.
You up there who said taff, as far as I'm aware that's an insult, I don't know why, maybe it's something to do with a rhyme I know.

We English DON'T Hate all welsh people, I for one don't and I am English. In every country (even wales), society, religion and culture you will always come across the odd person that for one reason or another have a hatred within them, I believe a lot of the time they don't actually have a valid reason for it but still it is there. Your question does come across as having a hint of dislike if not hatred for the English, and one wonders if this is justified.

You may find that most of the English dont really have a problem with the Welsh, just like they dont have a problem with us Scots. Its more a sterotype, but saying that I know what you mean. I got a little bit of sitck when I went to England but it was mostly if not all just piss taking.

I dont think they hate thi Welsh,It's just that like thi Scots, thi Welsh have refused to be assimilated by their larger neighbour, and have retained their national identity, language & culture through hundreds of years, of nothing more than bullying,& I hope that your Assembly soon becomes a Parliament
Which part of thi "Union?"flag represents Wales?
I really don't know!!!

In all honesty I haven't come across a great anti-welsh feeling any time I went south of the border, anti French, anti German, anti Irish, anti pakistani, anti indian, anti american, anti islam, anti black (unless they can play football) yes, anti welsh no. Even then these feelings are expressed by a minority. from a 1/4 Irish 3/4 Scot.
