NO!!! The only way you could consider it 'All American' is if you were looking for the all of the bad in one central location. A very high crime city.
My husband was born and raised there (and escaped with his life). I travel the world by myself, including 3rd would countries, but he won't let me go to Detroit alone.
Now to be honest, Detroit does have some good things, but the bad far out weigh good.
The best way to experience Detroit, is from a 747 at 30,000 feet.

It has never been voted as an All American City, nor has it been recognized as one yet. Tacoma WA, where Iive has received the "All American City" listing twice now. That is a federal program, the "All American City" program.

It is BY FAR the nastiest city in the US I've visited in the past 20 years.
If it weren't for Calcutta and Tiajuana it might be the worst on the planet. Detroit is truly a pit.

Sure! I mean, "American" is now defined as a "melting pot" of people. Detroit is the perfect example.

Not really. When I think of All-American, I think more midsized, and white picket fences, and communities too new to have sidewalks.

Not really, I will never go there unless business takes me there. Just not that appealing to me.
