My boyfriend has been farming while going thru college, but now that he's about done he's looking for a good paying, steady job. The problem is that he loves agricultre, he just doesn't want to farm. He really doesn't want to be stuck in a desk job the rest of his life...please, any ideas??

Go into viticulture and enology. The wine industry is booming. It'll give you the chance to move to some of the most beautiful places in the world (ever seen Napa Valley in the autumn? gorgeous!). And it's such a rewarding career because your products are enjoyed by folks like me!

Depending on what you would consider a good paying job and what type of degree he is getting. If he has a degree that will allow him to help design barns and other agricultural structures he should be able to make a decent living while being outside at least part of the time. From what I have seen, it is harder to make what most people consider a decent living in the Ag and forestry fields. I wish you and your boyfriend a lot of luck in the future.

Good luck Dear. See if he would like to open up a Farm and Fleet or TSC. A franchise would be the only way in the ag business that I can think of. Good luck.
