No, 80 is slightly above normal, but still a healthy number. The average resting pulse rate is 70. I on the other hand have a resting pulse rate of about 60, which is lower than average. If you wish to lower your pulse rate you'd have to strengthen your heart, this can be done through aerobic exercises, also called exercises of constant movement. Bicycling, hiking, walking, jumping jacks, even standing for long periods of time are aerobic exercises. Now I know as busy as we are in this world it become harder to exercise like you should. If this is one of your problems I have a few suggestions for you. Park a block or two away from where you work, so you have a bit of a walk to work, and back to your car. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, same with escalators. Also, sex is the best form of aerobic exercise, convince your spouse of this and you're in the good shape. Hope this helps answer your question.

Nope, 80 bpm resting is not too high. For average people, depending on if you smoke, if you're overweight etc. Normal pulse is between 70 - 90 (resting). For mega athletic people, they're resting pulse will probably be about 50-60 bpm. It's just because their bodies are in such great shape, meaning that their hearts don't have to beat as much or as hard.
So, no love, that pulse rate is a long ways from being too high. If you would've said that your resting pulse is 110 bpm, then I'd be concerned. So, you're okay. GOOD LUCK!

Dependnds on age....the normal resting heart rate for children ages 10+ and adults is anywhere between 60-100 beats per minute. For a well conditioned athlete it's 40-60 bpm.

80 is fine. Acceptable pulse rates range from about 58bpm to 100bpm. Women have differnt pulse rats than men, and factors such as age, fitness level, blood pressure etc all influence pulse rates too.
