Well, most people fear these type of issues and know only what they are told at the time. There was no proof to some people's dismay and relief at the same time. So it is the government who should feel ignorant, not the citizens particularly who were going on the basis of what they were told. Isn't that a rational fear anyway? Officials who intentionally lie are the cruel and ignorant ones, not just the people who believe the hype. People can choose to believe the speculations or the facts. But most of the time the facts are construed, so it isn't the people's fault. At least they listen to the news and try to stay informed and vote for things we have some control over. However, we have no real control on the lies we hear from government spokespersons and media. That would be impossible. I don't want to go overseas and inspect those things myself, so what else could I or anyone else do but wait it out--the truth does usually come out at some point, even it is too late to recover from them.

A simple engineer with poor grammar.
You can't lump everyone together like that. It's unfair. Some people believed what the President had to say. Others opposed and were skeptical from the beginning. The president now has the lowest approval rating of all time because no WMD were found and we have been in Iraq for 5 years with no solid outcome. Our troops are now involved in yet another unethical scandal and gas prices are high. That got the attention of his blind followers, and they aren't so blind anymore.
Don't judge an entire nation of people based on what you hear on your news there buddy.
Why so pissy with FOX? You don't think that's the only news channel we have, do you? People believe what they want to for the most part anyway.

Well it was once publicized that a few ancient chemical guns had been determined a yr or 2 in the past. So probably that is what you boss heard approximately. However, no, I do not suppose they've determined whatever fundamental. BUT I do consider the federal government is aware of in which most of the WMDs are, i.e., that they had been trucked out of nation earlier than the warfare. A senior typical in Saddam's military has attested to this and there have been satellite tv for pc portraits of a truck caravan heading out of nation previous to the warfare. But to head in after them...and even make accusations...could be tremendously politically flawed, so the federal government says not anything.

Americans are not stupid, and most Americans never believed that WMD's existed in Iraq. Our Pres. and others in his administration used it as an excuse to go to war (I believe they KNEW there were no WMD's) but they WANTED to go to war so George W. Bush could create an oil crisis to help his family and friends in the oil business. It has worked!
The FOX News is just the mouth-piece of the Republican Party - and not a real news agency!

In the US, the news media is mostly owned by large corporations, which of course have their own agenda. Furthermore, groups of wealthy families started a quiet push in the 1970s to buy up media outlets and promote a pro-wealthy agenda. It has taken liberals this long to wake up to it, and now we're 30 years behind.

Amercians will believe just about anything you tell them if it justifies, in their minds, attacking someone else. They seem to be infatuated with war.
