What would happen if gravity went away?

if gravity went away we would all float away and if suffocation wasnt an issue we would settle on seperate planets or get sucked into black holes like those peices of chocolate cookie going into you vaccume cleaner and those who settle on seperate planets, their bodiest adapt to the living situation and they became our aliens today because they think earth still has no gravity and by flying around in little space ships they are investigating how the beings now living on it didnt float off like them!

Everything that's not attached to the ground, including the atmosphere, would go zinging off into space. The surface of the earth is spinning at about 1000 MPH, and gravity is the only thing holding us down against the centrifugal force. Likewise, the Earth and other planets would drift away from the Sun, but we'd all asphyxiate before that caused any serious problem.

we would be thrown out of the earth as there will be no counter force to combat the effects of the centrifugal(basically centripetal) force .when gravity doesnt exist centrifugal force which always acts outwards tends to throw us out of the earth in a trajectory tangential to the surface of the earth.
