how do imake a shortcut for my desktop of "yahoo messenger"?

right click on the icon you use to start messanger. then click copy. go to your desktop right click then paste. simple as pie.

click on start, all programs, yahoo messenger, click and drag the Icon to your desktop. Or right click on it and chose create shortcut and drag that to the desktop

right click on any icon Choose SEND TO then DESKTOP
