I really like audiobooks, particularly on long road trips. I don't go on a road trip without at least one audiobook, especially if I will be driving. The only bad thing about audiobooks is that they are relatively expensive. They can cost anywhere from $20 - $60 per title. To get around cost, I typically go to the Cracker Barrel restaurants and rent them, listen to them on the trip, and return them before I get home. Cracker Barrel usually has a good selection, about 30 - 60 titles to chose from, depending on the store. You have to buy the book, but they give you most of your money back when you return it. I think it costs about $2 or $3 bucks to rent them after all is said and done. Its the best way to go with audiobooks.

I have listened to dozens of audiobooks, but one that stands out is Da Vinci Code. The Da Vinci code is good audiobook. I actually heard it before they were even talking about the movie coming out. I really enjoyed it.

The Brethren by John Grisham was pretty good too.

Stephen King's "the Library Policeman"

Warning: do not listen to this on a trip, where you may have to stop listening for a while...the suspense will drive you crazy! I listened to this enroute to do some tent camping, and found myself sitting in my car after setting up camp to listen to the end of it!

BTW: a lot of friends knowing my like of Science Fiction/Fantasy, had always suggested reading Anne McCaffrey, but I was never interested until I borrowed an audio book of Dragonsinger...for some reason listening rather then reading kept my attention, and now she is one of my favorite authors
