when someone writes something on a chalk board or a dry erase board, and then when they erase it, they leave the top part of the sentence (the dot in the i or the top bit of the lowercase l, for example) and it stays there, unerased. It bugs me and other people I know. I just wonder if it's even remotely common.

I'll go and finish erasing it... yeah that would bug me if I had been watching the person erasing the board. If my attention was elsewhere and I looked up to see something little still on the board, I don't think it would bother me though.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I've been in a conference or a meeting, and couldn't pay attention to the speaker because someone left the top loop of a letter or part of drawing. I want to run up there and erase it real quickly so I could pay attention.

I am the one who gets up and erase it. Back in high school I had a teacher whould make sure he got it all, just so I wouldn't get up and do it for him. I think he was annoyed.

It bugs the hell out of me! I will get up and erase it. I would, have, will do it again. I thought I was the only one who thought about that. :D

Yea, it's totally annoying. I can't focus on anything else until they erase it fully or write over it.

It's not a big deal, but it is slightly annoying because you keep focusing on that instead of the new sentence or whatever it is.

One of life's little quirks you'll just have to learn to not let bother you. :-)
