Why are guys turn into jerks when they turn 13 and up?

puberty --" at this age most guys discovers sex and they'll start talking about it at school Also by the age of 13 they'll think that they're matured already give them 1 or 2 years and they'll get over it

Guys turn into jerks to protect themselves from all the evil girls out there. Of course not all girls are evil bitc-hes, right? And not all guys are jerks either. Maybe someone hurt him and now he's mad? Maybe he just doesn't know how to deal with you. Men can't read women's minds but women still demand we do, invariably, we fail. And since women REFUSE to actually tell men what we need to know to deal properly with you, we have to guess and again, we often get it wrong and come across as jerks. But sometimes, some guys are just jerks, just like some gals are just evil bitc-hes. it happens. Don't let that stop you from finding your Prince. And don't be so unwilling to accept just a regular guy too. Not every Prince will want you just because you're a girl. Focus on making yourself the best person you can be and in time, the best guys will appear and you'll get to take your pick.

I suggest that you look elsewhere for a guy that is not a jerk. There is no truth to the fact that guys are jerks after the age of 13. Although, I will be the first to admit that for young guys, testerone and peer pressure make them lose site of proper values and morals.
Also, the same statement can be applied to the female persuasion. They are not Einsteins, either.
As people get older, however (28 and up), if the are jerks, they will be that way for the rest of their lives, probably.

Some guys are jerks. No matter their age. At 13 puberty kicks in and they MUST prove themselves, but being 13 they don't know how. Only life experience can teach them. But they don't know that either so they go on being jerks until some one teaches them. Blame their father for not instilling better values.

Well they think they know it all for one thing...but trust me 16 & 18 & even 21 are worse than 13! Two of my past boyfriends totally changed on me. One broke up with me 2 weeks after turning 16 & the other 2 weeks after turning 18! I now I have no clue who they are they became totally different people! Try not to mess with them till at least like 25! Long wait I know but its worth it!

let me tell ya, i have a son that is 14, he is a big jerk, for some reason he thinks he has to act like one to impress who ever is his girlfriend at the time (they don't stay his girlfriend for long). it is an age old question that can be put up there with does a guy really know what a woman wants

I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with the surging testosterone in their systems. Once they hit puberty, they become animalistic and it's a constant dominance thing. Guys always want to be the best and compete with others all the time. It's an alpha male thing. That's the best I can do! Hope this helps!

not all guys 13 and up are jerks!!! you just haven't found the right ones yet. Yes there are a lot of players and phonys, but there are just as many sweet,sincere,cute, nice, loyal, true guys out there. Be patient youre guy will come.

Don't make generalities. Just as guys should not make generalities about girls of that same age being nothing but B's if you get my drift. Some guys are, but they are few and far between. There is a saying that applies even to guys.
Beauty is in the eys of the beholder.
Not to mention
One bad apple spoils the barrell.
One guy does not society make.

13 is not a guy, he`s still a kid. puberty is hard on a teenager, some boys grow out of being a jerk, some don`t
