I don't use the laundromat anymore but when I did, I'd end up reading stuff like "the classifieds" or real estate magazines. Sometimes I'd watch tv (yes, the laundromat had one).
If you know you're going to be there for awhile, you could bring along something that you love to read, or you can bring music to listen to. Another idea (if you're in school) is to bring homework to do. That way you have less to do when you get home. (And I assume that there is better stuff to do at home anyways).
I totally agree with you. Laundromats should have an arcade or sell magazines and stuff. They are there to make money, right?

Good Question. I must say( and I am being truthful here), that I kind of glance at other people's things to see what's in their wardrobe. lol. Like I might see someone with a really cute shirt, and then I will go hunting and looking for one just like it. It's fun to do, and it also passes the time. I read magazines, of course, but magazines can't give you the entertainment that watching peoples clothes can. And, I am NOT gay or weird, I just think that it can be a fun thing to do in a laundromat.

I usually spend my time figuring out why i get so much black stuff under my nails, and often end up trying to calculate the total weight of all the black stuff which resides under the fingernails of everybody on earth. So far i've been unsuccessful. Therefore i would like there to be a machine in my local 'laundromat' (though we don't call them that here in England), which could calculate the answer for me. Therefore, saving me more time to think about some sane things for a change.

I have kids that I take to the laundrymat so I know if I get bored they will get bored. I bring kid books and read to them. Sometimes other kids will sit around and listen to the story. Other parents love it because they aren't chasing their kids around.
But you can bring in a book or a magazine. You can also drive around. It takes about 30 minutes for clothes to wash..average, depending on maching. Then it usually takes around 40 minutes for the laundy to dry. You can do other errands while thoes dry like going to the bank, grocery shopping, paying a bill or take a nice walk.

I hated going to the laundry mat but i had to. I would usually take someone with me or take a magazine or just sit in the car and listen to the radio while i waited. And sometimes when i really didn't want to sit and wait i would just drop my clothes off and just go back to check on them.

First of all this category would probably fall into "Other". Well, if I am going to the Laundromat and I know it is going to be busy and I will have to wait, I would probably take my iPod. If you don't have one, I would take a puzzle book (Sudoko, Grids, etc. ).

Well they have magazines, a couple of video games, and a television in the one I go to so I might read one of the mags or watch the tv. I usually bring my sudoku puzzle book and do those.

Perhaps under laundry and cleaning. If you go to soap and suds, you can drink beer while doing the laundry. Usually, I read. What a drag.

I usually go bring a book. You could also start a folding business. Tell people you will fold their clothes for like a buck.
