my fiance left for iraq 2 days ago. he returns in a year and a half and then we are getting married. my hair is to my sholders, but i want it to be really long when he gets back. i have a problem with split ends. if you have anything to help, please let me know. also, i have a pimple problem, not just on my face. the other problem is that i'm low on money. i'm in the process of getting a good money making job, but i just got out of college, so i'm not exactly well established. another thing i'm wondering about is my fingernails. they split often and are very flimsy. i don't paint them, but if it's clear, i'm not opposed. i always have my toenails painted because they're ugly, but if you have anything to fix or help with my nails, please let me know. i want to look amazing when my fiance gets back. if you can, please help.

If he loves you no matter what you will look amazing to him. If you want to make you feel better about your looks here are some hints. Get an inexpensive hair cut just to get rid of the split ends you can not repair them. Also don't get a blunt cut (staight across). Then trim your ends once a month (at home or at a salon) to keep your hair healthy. Wash only once a day and condition every other. Also you should take a good multi-vitamin with minerals. That will also help your nails. File and clean your nails everyother week and polish clear to add strength. For the pimples you may need to see a dermatoligist. If you really can't afford the doctor and prescrips then I like Proactiv it seems to work really well but avoid tanning or going in the sun with out block. Best of luck to you. Also right before he gets back or as soon as you can afford it pamper yourself at a salon or spa.

My advice for growing your hair, keep cutting off the spilt ends. Healthy hair grows faster and looks better, so every month cut off an inch or two. For your skin, I woluld recommend going on the pill (yes, birth control) it is covered by most health insurance or you can get it cheap at the local planned parenthood. It will even out your hormones and usually clears your skin better then anything. As for the nails, I recommend a very very light pink strengthing nail polish like Sally hanson. Go to a drug store, you can usually open them and test on a nail, to make sure its the right shade- they usually don't mind. there are many colors that strengthen your nails and the pinkish tone only makes them look shiny and fresh. I hope this advice helps some.

For your acne problem, use Arbonne Cleansing Gel. My sister has probably used every product on the market and that's the one that works.
I have nails like that too, and I find if I file them really smooth they don't catch on stuff and break. And I find if I paint them clear the shine catchs my attention and reminds me to be careful of them.
And I find trimming my hair every couple months just a little keeps the
split ends away.
Hope this helps. God bless the soldiers in Iraq

Hi soon to be Military Wife!
I am a Army wife, married to my wonderful husband for 5 years.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel and look your best and wanting to surprise your babe. My husband left to South Korea a year ago and that's the thing I did. I lost 43 pounds, I feel and look great and when I picked my husband up from the airport, all he could say was, "You look so Beautiful babe" and I felt it in our hugs. I was smaller and I could feel his arms wrap around me!
He's gone for an additional year and this time I'm planning our Catholic CHurch wedding when he arrives.
Get your hair trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks to take off the dead ends and keep healthy ones. When ever you do have time or the money, enjoy a little manicure and pedicure. Watch what they do and do the same at home on a nice easy night. Wash your skin with neutrigena body wash, that will help any thing on your body, drink lots of water, if you don't like the taste of plain water, add some Crystal Lite to it. It tastes great and you'll get your water for the day. Work out every night. M-F. I own a treadmil, so I walk 3 miles every night, but rest on S-S. Your babe loves you, yes he does, and I believe you can do this for you and to show your admoration to your sweetie. Doing this will keep your heart and mind off of too much worry for him. Believe me...i know worry.
It's not healthy to worry about him so much, and in the words of my husband, "Babe...don't worry about me, keep yourself busy babe and in no time I will be back home to you!"
So if you keep your days filled and your heart in prayer...you will be blessed.

Work it work it! First of all with split ends, you should start with getting your hair trimmed. If you take prenatal vitamins every day, it will help your hair and nails grow healthy. File your nails often. File them square and only file in one direction not back and fourth. Keep a file with you at all times so, if one cracks or is breaking you don't be temped to bite. Never bite your nails. I sudjest letting your nails breath between polishing. As for the pimples, eat healthy and the prenatal vitamins might help but, for the ones on your face, I sudjest washing 2 a day. Start by washing your face with hot water and neutrogena soap, rinse well with hot water then rinse with cold water. Dry your face with a clean towel. I also sudjest a good SPF Lotion for your face and body to block the suns damaging rays. If you swim in a pool make sure you take a bath/shower immediately after and wash the chlorine out of your hair and off of your body. 1 and 1/2 years is plenty of time to get yourself together. I think it is wonderful that you are working to get yourself together for your fiance. He is doing a great thing for our country and you are going to make him very happy. Not that you take drugs but, be sure not to because, they stop vitamins from working and cause more pimples. Good Luck.

You'd be better off worrying less about your appearance and spend more time planning his homecoming and the wedding. If he truly loves you, longer hair and fingernails are the least of his thoughts.

That is not to suggest that you let yourself go, but hair and nails are afterthoughts. One recommendation: try proactive for the acne.

Just accept that you are ugly. Obviously he likes you enough or else he wouldn't be your fiance unless he plans to disappear in Iraq which seems pretty likely based on how ugly you are. You better hope he comes back or else no one else will ever want your ugly a$$.
