I recently interview for a job and I sent a thank you letter afterwards. The next day, the interviewer called me and told me that she is still interview other applicants and that she will let me know when she came to a conclusion. When I went to a job agency website, I saw that she posted the same hiring ad on that website right after she called me. Does anyone know what this means???

They are still looking for more applicants. They may have some sort of a quota for obtaining a certain number of applicants. If she phoned you, they are probably interested. They normally do not phone until they are done interviewing.

I just got a job. I interviewed and she said she was still interviewing. I got a call about a week later offering me the job. The whole week before I got the call and the day after I got the call the job was posted on Monster. I think sometimes it is set up to automatically repost.

it means that she is looking for other applicants. if i were the head of a company or at least in charge of hiring, i would want to interview more than just one person. this could be good for you! they may interview some idiot who isn't nearly as qualified. they may not even get a response. either way, don't you dare stop looking. do the same thing they are doing. you don't want to look at just one job right? you want to look at several so that you can choose the one you like the best. i expect to see your name in fortune 500 in two weeks after the advice i just gave you. good luck!

When a job agency advertises it does not always mean that they have an actual vacancy to fill, often they advertise in anticipation of vacancies occurring in the near future or if a company recruiting wants to know what caliber of potential employees are out there. Can be frustrating if you are a job seeker, but unfortunately is all to common, you may have been caught up in one of these activities.

It could mean that she didn't find a suitable candidate amongst the interview she did do and that means you didn't get the job, or there might be another similar position to the one you interviewed for that needs to be filled as well.
