As long as they have a good sense of humor they should not be upset by a phrase used by the general public. In fact they may find it humorous and worth using as a joke on the date. I am blind in one eye and can't tell you how many times I have been told to keep my eye on someone or something and I always ask," Does it matter if its the one I see out of?"

No problem if he/or she did. I went out on a blind date, with a guy who was blind. Never went out again with him... had nothing to do with the blindness... I think he would still have been a jerk, if he had been sighted.

News flash, people who are blind, know they are... no reason to tip toe.

You can even ask:

Did you watch ____ last night? (referring to a TV show)
Have you seen _____ today? (referring to a person)
Have you read _____? (referring to a book)
Have you ever gone on a blind date?

As you and the person get to know each other the jokes will pop up from time to time.

Actually a guy at the airport (it's some reality show about airports) was joking saying he was meeting a woman for a half blind date because he was blind and she was not. So...based on that it might not be. I don't know why you'd meet a date at the airport, though. Just 'cause the food is expensive doesn't make it good.

I believe any blind person would see the humour of it.
I suppose if both parties are blind, then it could be the blind leading the blind on a date.

I suspect a blind person could go on multiple blind dates all with the same person!!

We can only be so politically correct. Given most of the blind people I know, they would have said the joke first.

You would say," sight impaired person went on a blind date" or "a blind person went on a sightless date". get with the program sanitizer!

Probably not, as long as it isn't intended to be disrespectful or a joke, but you could just find a different wording and not have to worry about it.

it depends on the blind person, if they have no sense of humor or extremely sensitive, they might take offense, but if not, they'll probably just laugh it off.
