Rainy season, yes. But, it is an offpeak for most resort here which means cheaper - a discount as much as 50%. Regarding activities, you can think of endless activities here even if it's raining. Actually, my friends and I prefer going to the beach during the rainy season (it seems that you own the entire beach, you can get all the privacy you want)

I have gone to the Philippines in Mid June and it was the beginning of Monsoon Season. if you like rain, then you won't have a problem. i personally do not, so I stayed indoors during rainy days. I must warn you. Rain there is not like anywhere else. it might be sun and shiny one minute and raining dogs and cats the next. I guess it all depends on what it is that you will be doing and what areas you will be visiting. But the whole thing is to have fun, and fun you will.

Wht is the purpose of the visit anyway.
If its just for roaming around better avaoid a trip in the rainyseason. Its not at all fun in the rain. I have been to philippines & in my opinion if its raining its not good to be there.
Even you won't be able to enjoy the sea or the islands.

There is no bad time to go the the Phils. I am returning in August for trip 7. I was there in July 03 and it did rain a lot but it did not rain every day and it did not dampen my enjoyment. In fact, we went to Taal near Tagaytay for a day trip and it was a gorgeous day, hardly a cloud in the sky. Go and have fun. You will love the Phils so much that, once you return home, you will find yourself planning your next trip back.

Sure! There are lots of fun stuff you can do around here even if it's raining and it doesn't rain as much in July, but airfare is a bit high during this season. :)

Is your friend still studying? Just make sure that you and your friend doesnt have a conflict in schedule. Summer just ended here. If he's still a student i dont know if he can tour you around.
There's a lot to do here it just depends on what you think you'll enjoy doing most.. If you are into more private settings, beaches would not be overly crowded during this season.

It really depends on what you plan on doing. If you plan to go malling, it's not really a problem, but if you plan to go to the beach, don't expect sunny skies. It won't rain all day, but if you encounter the misfortune of a typhoon, it will. Hope this helps.
